But the greatest of these is...

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE. ! Corinthians 13:13.

Valentines Day is filled with the hustle and bustle of hoping for the right gift for their significant others. Buy all the flowers, thinking it s the perfect time to pop the special question to that special someone, making reservations to the restaurant you’ve been waiting to try have probably all been at the top of your to-do list. We all know that Valentine’s Day is a special day where you get to say I love you- but when was the last time you said I you to God?

This year SCM hosted our annual Valentine’s Day party with our students. Leading up the big day, the students and staff had been reading scriptures that expressed how much God loved us. They also look at scriptures describing how God expected us to behave regarding our love for one another. Students learned that We love because God first loved us. They learned that God showed the ultimate love for us when he sent his son to give his life for us.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in showing others that we love them-which is good. God wants us to love one another deeply. However, when our love for others supersede our love for God we must check ourselves. God wants us to always remember that He loved us first.

Lastly, we shouldn’t show our love for God and other only one day a out of the year. God is always blessing us and showing His love for us multiple times throughout the day. That accident you passed on the expressway, God spared your life. That’s love! That way He made to allow you to do whatever it was that needed to be done, that’s love. The healing you’d been praying for was God’s way of showing you that he loves you!

The staff and students at SCM just want to remind you that God’s love for you is unconditional!
